MICHEL LEGRAND
Directed 1962 by Joseph Losey with Jeanne Moreau, Virna Lisi, Stanley Baker.
Michelle Legrand, the so-called Mozart of new wave cinema, was expilicitely told that he was the second choice to compose the music for the movie 'Eva'. Director Joseph Losey really wanted Miles Davis for the project. Legrand's beautifully constructed jazz score however provides the perfect mood for the film's Venetian setting. Apart from Legrand's music the film also contains Billie Holiday's 'Willow Weep For Me' and 'Loveless Love'.
This fascinating and rich '60s score simply shouldn't be missed!
